Atlanta Gladiators News Release

The Gwinnett Gladiators announced today that goaltender Dave Caruso has been assigned to the team from the Chicago Wolves of the American Hockey League. In a separate transaction, Bruce Mulherin has been placed on the 3-day injured reserve.

Caruso made 18 saves in 36 minutes of action in a 10-5 win over the Peoria Rivemen on November 4th. In two games with the Gladiators, the Roswell, Georgia native posted a 2-0-0 record and a 2.51 goals against average for Gwinnett.

A rookie out of The Ohio State University, Caruso appeared in 96 total games with the Buckeyes, posting a 52-32-9 record with 11 shutouts, 2.07 goals-against average and a .919 save percentage during his collegiate career. He holds the school record for career GAA with 2.03 and shares the record for career shutouts with nine.

Mulherin has appeared in two games with the Gladiators but has not registered a point for Gwinnett. The rookie led the University of Alabama-Huntsville in scoring last year during his senior collegiate season.
