Texas Wildcatters News Release
Beaumont, TX (November 6, 2006) The Texas Wildcatters enter the week with a 4-2-1-0 record after finishing a three game road trip with a record of 1-1-1-0 The 'Catters are currently in third place in the American Conference's South Division with 9 points. Kevin Baker leads the ECHL with 7 power play goals and is currently on a 5 game goal scoring streak while J.F. David leads all defensemen with 11 points (1 goal and 10 assists).
This Week's Games
Friday, November 10 7:30 p.m. CT and Saturday, November 11 vs. Gwinnett 7:05 p.m. CT at Ford Arena (Medical Center of Southeast Texas Night)
The Wildcatters return home after playing 6 out of their first 7 games on the road to face-off against the defending American Conference Champion, Gwinnett Gladiators. The Gladiators defeated the Wildcatters 6 to 3 in the first meeting of the season between the two teams this past Saturday night in Georgia. The Gladiators are led by Brad Schell who leads the ECHL in scoring with 19 points (4 goals and 15 assists). Saturday night's game is Medical Center of Southeast Texas night. Veterans and Military personnel can enjoy Wildcatters hockey by purchasing tickets for just five dollars with a military ID.

Friday, November 3 at Columbia 5-2 Win
The Wildcatters began their three game road trip through the Carolinas and Georgia by winning their third consecutive game, defeating the Columbia Inferno 5 to 2 in front of 2,051 at the Carolina Coliseum. The Wildcatters continued their impressive streak scoring their 11th straight goal on the power play when Kevin Baker lit the lamp at the 12:08 mark of the first period. Baker would also add the game winning goal in the second period, finishing the game with his fifth and sixth goals of the season. Mark Rooneem scored his first goal of the season as did Daniel Sparre who scored in his first game as a Wildcatter. Brandin Cote rounded out the scoring with his fourth goal of the year. For the first time this season, the Wildcatters were out shot and Matt Yeats once again was big in net stopping 53 Columbia shots to earn his third win of the season.
Saturday, November 4 at Gwinnett 6-3 Loss
The Wildcatters three game winning streak came to an end as the Gwinnett Gladiators defeated the Wildcatters 6 to 3 in front of a sellout crowd of 11,355 at The Arena at Gwinnett Center. The 'Catters were put in a hole early as Gwinnett struck with three first period goals and Matt Yeats came in to relieve starting goaltender Miroslav Kopriva at the 18:00 minute mark of the first period. Mark Rooneem netted his second goal in as many nights making the score 3 to 1 at the end of the first period, but Gwinnett came out strong again in the second and added three more goals. Brandin Cote scored his fifth of the season for Texas and Kevin Baker scored his league leading sixth power play goal and seventh goal of the season to round out the scoring for the Wildcatters
Sunday, November 5 at Charlotte 4-3 OT Loss
The Wildcatters in front of a crowd of 4,313 at Charlotte Bobcats Arena were defeated in overtime by the Charlotte Checkers 4 to 3. Kevin Baker tied the game late in the third period with his second goal of the game, but Kenton Smith netted the game winner on the power play in over time as the Checkers won the first meeting of the season between the two teams. Mike Bayrack who played for Charlotte last season scored the second goal of the game in the loss for the 'Catters. Matt Yeats got the start and made 29 saves in the loss. The Wildcatters conclude their road trip with a record of 1-1-1.

Wildcatters in the Community
Wildcatters players will be visiting schools across Southeast Texas this week. Players will visit Sour Lake Elementary School for a Happy Meal party on Tuesday in support of the DESK Program as well as RISE on Thursday. Also on Thursday, Wildcatters players will be participating in the Orangeheld Jr. High Pep Rally on Thursday. Leadership Beaumont will visit Ford Arena on Thursday at 7:00 p.m. to hear from Head Coach Malcolm Cameron and learn more about the team.

The Wildcatters Warm-up show will begin 20 minutes prior to opening face-off. The Coaches Show will not be held on Monday and will be determined at a future time.
