Capitals Recall Cameron Schilling from Hershey

ARLINGTON, Va. - The Washington Capitals have recalled defenseman Cameron Schilling from the Hershey Bears of the American Hockey League (AHL), senior vice president and general manager Brian MacLellan announced today.

Schilling, 26, has appeared in three NHL games with the Capitals this season. The Carmel, Ind., made his 2014-15 season debut on Feb. 6 against Anaheim and has recorded four penalty minutes in five career NHL games with Washington. Schilling recorded 13 points (two goals, 11 assists) and 44 penalty minutes in 48 games with Hershey (AHL) this season and has earned 45 points (12 goals, 33 assists) and 208 penalty minutes in 195 career AHL games. Schilling signed with Washington as a free agent on March 27, 2012.

Schilling played in 144 collegiate games during his four-year career with Miami University, collecting 57 points (eight goals, 49 assists) and 155 penalty minutes. The 6'2", 202-pound defenseman was a member of two NCAA All-Regional Teams (2008, 2010) and helped Miami win the 2010-11 CCHA Championship.
