Canes Recall Patrick Brown from Charlotte

RALEIGH, NC - Ron Francis, Executive Vice President and General Manager of the National Hockey League's Carolina Hurricanes, today announced that the team has recalled forward Patrick Brown from the Charlotte Checkers of the American Hockey League (AHL). Brown will join the Hurricanes for their game on Saturday at PNC Arena against the New York Islanders.

Brown, 23, is the lone Checkers player to play in all 66 of the team's games this season, and ranks tied for fourth on the team in goals (13). The Bloomfield Hills, MI, native is in his second professional season and played in seven NHL games with Carolina in 2014-15. Brown (6'1", 210 lbs.) played four seasons at Boston College before turning professional, and was a member of the Eagles' 2012 NCAA championship team. In 126 career AHL games with Charlotte, Brown has scored 15 goals and earned 18 assists (33 points). He signed with Carolina as a free agent in April 2014.
