PROMOTIONS/EVENTS

Dairy Queen Home Opener:

Yes, it's that time of year again! Hockey season! The Lethbridge Hurricanes kick off the 2015-2016 Western Hockey League season this Friday, September 25th when they host the rival Medicine Hat Tigers at the ENMAX Centre at 7:00pm, doors open at 6:00pm. Tickets for the Home Opener are available by visiting any Dairy Queen location in Lethbridge or by calling (403) 329-SEAT.

Tailgate Party:

Prior to the Dairy Queen Home Opener, be sure to join us for the Tailgate Party which will kick off at 5:00pm on the outside plaza of the ENMAX Centre. There will be a BY DONATION Bar-Be-Que with burgers and pop courtesy of Mr. Mikes SteakhouseCasual - all proceeds raised during the BBQ will be donated to United Way. As well, there will be face-painting for the kids and ROCK 106's Ian Sharek will be broadcasting live starting at 4:00pm.

Ticket Booklets Available in Ticket Centre:

A reminder that Season Ticket Booklets are now available to be picked up, along with your gift, at the ENMAX Centre Ticket Centre. Office Hours: Monday to Friday from 9:00am-5:00pm and Saturday's from 10:00am-4:00pm. It is recommended that you pick up your Season Ticket Booklets prior to the Dairy Queen Home Opener

Individual Game Tickets Now Available:

Individual game tickets and flex packs are NOW available for purchase at the ENMAX Centre Ticket Centre which is open Monday to Friday from 9:00am-5:00pm and Saturday's from 10:00am-4:00pm.

THIS WEEK'S GAME SCHEDULE

Friday, September 25th, 7:00pm vs. Medicine Hat Tigers: The Hurricanes kick off the 2015-2016 regular season when they host the Tigers in the Dairy Queen Home Opener. It will be the fourth year in a row that the 'Canes will have opened the season with a home-and-home against their Southern Alberta rival.

Saturday, September 26th, 7:30pm @ Medicine Hat Tigers: The Hurricanes will look to rain on the Tigers parade Saturday when they travel to Medicine Hat for the grand opening of the brand new Canalta Centre. LISTEN LIVE ON ROCK 106!

NEWS & NOTES

Tune Up Is Done:

The Lethbridge Hurricanes wrapped up the 2015 ENMAX Pre-Season last Friday with a 5-4 overtime loss to the Calgary Hitmen in the Crowsnest Pass. The 'Canes finished the warm up season with a record of 3-2-1-0 overall picking up wins over the Swift Current Broncos and pair against the Kootenay Ice. All three losses the 'Canes suffered were by one goal.

Shaving The Roster Down:

The Hurricanes are currently carrying 26 players - including two goaltenders, nine defenseman and 15 forwards - as they head into Friday's season opener against the Tigers. The team has made a pair of moves in the past week having re-assigned 18-year-old forward Johnny Wesley to the Surrey Eagles of the British Columbia Hockey League as well as assigning 18-year-old goaltender Brandon Kegler to the Lloydminster Bobcats of the Alberta Junior Hockey League.

Sweet Sixteen:

Young players have proven themselves worthy thus far through training camp and the exhibition schedule. The rings true for the Lethbridge Hurricanes who are currently carrying four 16-year-old's with forwards Jordy Bellerive, Zane Franklin and Brett Davis and defenseman Nick Watson battling for spots come opening night. The Hurricanes also currently have five players born in 1998 with sophomore's Stuart Skinner, Jaeger White and Ryan Vandervlis joined by rookies Barrett Sheen and Igor Merezhko.

NHL Camp Attendees:

The Hurricanes continue to live life with both defenseman Andrew Nielsen and forward Giorgio Estephan as the days draw closer to the season opener on Friday. Nielsen, who was selected in the third round of the NHL Entry Draft in June, continues to impress at the Toronto Maple Leafs main camp. While sixth round selection, Estephan continue to hang around the Buffalo Sabres main camp.
