Edmonton Oil Kings News Release
EDMONTON, ALTA. - The 50/50 draw at the Edmonton Oil Kings' home opener will get a boost from the rollover of an unclaimed prize, the club announced Monday.
The winners' pot will start at $8,077.50 when the team opens their home schedule against the Red Deer Rebels on Sunday, September 27 because of an unclaimed pot from the 2015 first round playoff series against the Brandon Wheat Kings.
"We know that Edmonton sports fans love the 50/50, and we know that an extra $8,000 in the pot is just extra encouragement for our great fans to be generous," Kevin Radomski, Oil Kings director, business operations. "We're proud to lend our support to community organizations throughout the Capital Region, with 50/50 draws raising over $250,000 in 2014-15."
The 2014 Oil Kings home opener saw a 50/50 jackpot of $13,086 without any seed money, and previous rollovers have resulted in a winners' share approaching $20,000. Tickets for the draw are one for $2, five for $5 or 10 for $10, with the winner keeping half the proceeds and the rest going to charity.
Tickets for the Oil Kings' Sept. 27 home opener at 4 p.m. against the Red Deer Rebels are on sale now. Tickets start under $20 and are available at oilkings.ca, the Rexall Place box office and all Ticketmaster locations.
