
Canadiens Assign Joey Macdonald to Bulldogs

MONTREAL, QUE. - Montreal Canadiens and Hamilton Bulldogs general manager Marc Bergevin announced today the Canadiens have assigned goaltender Joey MacDonald to the Bulldogs.
MacDonald was recalled by Montreal on Friday and dressed in a backup role for the Canadiens on Saturday evening. In 13 games with Hamilton this season, he has a record of 6-4-3 with a 2.80 goals-against average and .906 save percentage.
In 133 career NHL regular season games with the Calgary Flames, Detroit Red Wings, Toronto Maple Leafs, New York Islanders and Boston Bruins, the Pictou, N.S. native has a record of 44-61-15 with a 3.00 goals-against average, .902 save percentage and two shutouts. In 313 career AHL regular season games with the Bulldogs, Abbotsford Heat, Grand Rapids Griffins, Toronto Marlies, Bridgeport Sound Tigers and Cincinnati Mighty Ducks, the 6-0, 197-pound goaltender has a record of 150-129-19 with a 2.63 goals-against average, .913 save percentage and 24 shutouts.
The Canadiens signed MacDonald as a free agent on July 1, 2014.
The Bulldogs will be back in action on Sunday, Dec. 21 when they'll host the Texas Stars at FirstOntario Centre at 3 p.m.
