IceCaps Make Pair of Roster Moves

St. John's IceCaps News Release


The St. John's IceCaps announced they have returned defenceman Ralfs Freibergs on loan to the Ontario Reign of the ECHL and have released defenceman Ryan Parent from his professional tryout contract.

Freibergs, 23, played four games with the IceCaps since his recall on December 5th, notching two assists. The Riga, Latvia native has suited up in 20 games with the Reign this season, collecting two goals and an assist with four penalty minutes and a +7 rating.

Parent, 27, was signed to a PTO on December 19th and appeared in one game for St. John's. The Saskatoon native has played four games with the Ontario Reign (ECHL) this season, collecting one assist. Last season, the blueliner played 26 games with the Norfolk Admirals (AHL), notching three assists and 26 penalty minutes to go along with four penalty minutes in five playoff games.
