CHARLESTON, S.C. - Albert Campos twirled 7.0 innings of one-run ball, as the Asheville Tourists held on to top the Charleston RiverDogs, 2-1, in South Atlantic League action Friday night in front of a crowd of 4,568 fans at Joseph P. Riley, Jr. Park.

Asheville improved to 30-31 with its second straight victory, while Charleston dropped a season-worst sixth straight decision to fall to 23-38.

The RiverDogs wasted no time in getting to Campos (4-4) after Shane Greene (2-6) threw up a zero in the top of the first inning. Anderson Feliz and Ramon Flores ripped back-to-back doubles - the latter of the RBI variety - to give Charleston a 1-0 lead. Asheville's Rafael Ortega prevented another run by gunning out Flores at the plate on a J.R. Murphy single to centerfield.

Asheville drew even at 1-1 with a run on one hit in the top of the third. Russell Wilson scalded a single to center field leading off the frame, moved to third on a throwing error by Greene, and came around to score on an Ortega fielder's choice groundout.

Wilson plated his second tally of the night to advance the Tourists back in front, 2-1, in the top of the fifth inning. The former North Carolina State quarterback grounded a single through the right side of the infield, and made the 270-foot trek to the plate when Ortega laced a RBI triple to the right field corner.

Greene sported a sharp slider in his 5.0 innings of work, commanding it along with his fastball to avoid issuing a single free pass for the second straight start. The 6-4 right-hander yielded the two runs (one earned) on six hits, while striking out seven.

Campos was masterful in penning six shutout innings after the opening frame, while allowing just three base hits. In total, the No. 13 prospect in the Rockies' system (Baseball America) lasted 7.0 innings, permitting the one score on six hits and a walk, fanning six in the process.

Danny Burawa and Manny Barreda gave the Charleston offense a chance to forge a comeback, authoring 4.0 scoreless innings while racking up seven strikeouts. Brett Tanos' eighth inning walk was the only the base runner Asheville could manage against the two right-handed hurlers.

Charleston threatened against Asheville closer Juan Perez in the bottom of the ninth, but could not come up with the key hit as it dropped its sixth straight one-run decision.

Flores singled, and Kyle Roller grounded a double down the right field line to put runners at second and third with one out. Perez secured his 13th save of the season, though, by inducing a foul popup from Kelvin De Leon and a groundout from Garrison Lassiter.
