TODAY'S GAME
The Calgary Hitmen play their second game in as many days today against the Oil Kings, this time this afternoon at home against Edmonton. The puck drops at 2:00 p.m. at Seven Chiefs Sportsplex on Tsuut'ina Nation. In their first meeting in almost 15 months, Edmonton took the opener 4-3 last night in the Alberta capital. Jalen Luypen led the Oil Kings with two goals and an assist while Carson Latimer and Josh Williams added singles. Connor Gabruch, Orca Wiesblatt and Luke Prokop replied for the Hitmen who saw their two-game winning streak come to an end. Edmonton outshot the visitors 31-29 and received a 26 save performance from goaltender Sebastian Cossa. Jack McNaughton turned aside 27 shots for Calgary.

- Tristan Zandee (5a) is on a three-game point streak while Adam Kydd (2g, 1a), Connor Gabruch (2g), Luke Prokop (1g, 1a) and Evan Toth (2a) all have points in back-to-back games.
-Josh Prokop (4g, 3a) saw his career high six-game point streak end last night in Edmonton while two-game streaks for Tyson Galloway (2g, 2a) and Jackson van de Leest (2a) were also snapped.

During that time the team was won the league title twice, once in 1999 and again in 2010. Calgary is closing in on a franchise milestone as they near 1,800 regular season games. Today is game 1,798.
ALUMNI UPDATE: Travis Sanheim, who played three seasons with the Hitmen from 2013-16, is in the NHL with the Philadelphia Flyers. The 24-year-old defenceman from Elkhorn, MB has nine points (1g, 8a) in 31 games. During his time in Calgary, Sanheim notched 162 points (35g, 127a) in 186 games.
PLAYER SPOTLIGHT: Defenceman Evan Toth is in his second season in the Western Hockey League. The 18-year-old product of Winnipeg, MB was Calgary's sixth-round pick, 112th overall, in the 2017 WHL Bantam Draft. His first career WHL goal came against Edmonton on December 30, 2019 in a 5-3 victory at Scotiabank Saddledome. After recording eight points (2g, 6a) as a rookie in 50 games last season, Toth already has four points (4a) in nine games season year.
