Tri-City Americans News Release

KENNEWICK, WA - After falling to the Silvertips in a tough-fought shutout loss in Everett on Wednesday, the Americans return to the Toyota Center today to face the Spokane Chiefs for the first time this season.

Tonight's Match-Up:

Tri-City (1-2-0-0) | Spokane (0-3-0-1)

The Chiefs are still looking for their first win of the season and, like the Americans, also coming off a shutout loss after falling 5-0 last night to the Thunderbirds. Tonight will be the first of eight times the two rival teams meet this season.

Over the past five seasons the Americans are 17-12-4-1 against the Chiefs and 9-6-2-0 head-to-head at the Toyota Center.

Minnesota Wild prospect Adam Beckman is Spokane's top scorer with four points (two goals, two assists) in four games. The Americans have nine separate players sitting with one point this season.

Tri-City's Last Game:

Score 3-0 EVT | Shots 30-21 TC

The Americans hit the road on Wednesday for their first away game of the season and matched up against the Everett Silvertips at Angel of the Winds Arena. Tri-City was looking for a rebound victory after being blanked by the undefeated Silvertips on Sunday. Unfortunately that wasn't in the cards as the Americans were shut out 3-0 by Everett.

Silvertips netminder, and Calgary Flames prospect, Dustin Wolf once again started in net. Wednesday's game was his third straight shutout, setting a new Silvertips franchise record.

However, the victory didn't come easy for the star Silvertips netminder. The Americans continued to put pressure on Wolf throughout the game, outshooting Everett 30-21.

Andrej Golian took a five-minute major for checking to the head during the first period. He will miss tonight's game serving a one-game suspension for the penalty.

Veteran goaltender Talyn Boyko played the full game in net for the Americans. He stopped 18 of 21 shots faced.
