Hitmen return home to host Kelowna Sunday

Lethbridge, AB - The Calgary Hitmen have pulled within five points of Lethbridge for a Western Hockey League playoff spot after beating the Hurricanes 6-1 Saturday night at the ENMAX Centre.

Goaltender Nick Schneider made 37 saves and added an assist to backstop the Hitmen to their fourth straight win over Lethbridge in the season series.

Andrew Fyten netted a pair of goals for Calgary with Luke Coleman (1g, 1a), Jameson Murray (1g, 2a), Riley Stotts (1g, 1a), and Cael Zimmerman adding singles. Jake Kryski chipped in a pair of assists.

Jordy Bellerive tallied the lone goal for the Hurricanes who outshot the Hitmen 38-34.

Calgary returns home on Sunday, Jan. 7 to face the Kelowna Rockets. The 4:00 p.m. start at the Scotiabank Saddledome is another Sunday Funday presented by Pocky. There will be face painters, concourse activities, lots of giveaways and a post-game family skate that is FREE with a game ticket. Sunday Funday contests also feature a specially priced $8.99 ticket (plus applicable fees) for kids 12 and under.

Additionally, Hitmen Season Pass Holders are invited to head to the 'Dome early to enjoy the Flames SuperSkills beginning at 1:30 p.m. (Doors open at 1:00 p.m.) Access to the event is complimentary with a Hitmen season pass. Please note SuperSkills seating is general admission. Following the skills event an announcement will be made to proceed to the seating areas allocated to attendees.
