GIANTS ACQUIRE 20-YEAR-OLD DEFENCEMAN BRENNAN RIDDLE FROM LETHBRIDGE

Vancouver, B.C. - Vancouver Giants General Manager Glen Hanlon announced today that the Giants have acquired 1997-born defenceman Brennan Riddle (Balgonie, SK) in exchange for 1997-born forward Brad Morrison.

Riddle is a left-handed shooting defenceman who checks in at 6'2" and 197 pounds. He's appeared in 216 career WHL games (With Prince Albert and Lethbridge). During that span he's collected five goals, 29 assists and 167 penalty minutes. In 37 games this season he's scored once and added five assists. Last season he registered four goals and 14 assists for 18 points in 71 games and added another goal and three assists in 20 playoff games.

"We're excited to add a player of Brennan's calibre and character to our organization," said Giants General Manager Glen Hanlon. "It's always great to add more character and leadership to your hockey team and he will be an excellent mentor for our young defencemen."

Brad Morrison was originally acquired by the Giants in June in a trade with the Prince George Cougars. In 42 games this season he scored 11 goals and added 24 assists for 35 points. In 302 career WHL games he's registered 96 goals and 127 assists for 223 points.

Tomorrow night the Vancouver Giants continue their five-game road swing when they face the Prince George Cougars in the first of a Tuesday-Wednesday double-header. Puck drops at 7:00 PM from the CN Centre.
