Pats Back at Home to Take on Prince Albert Raiders

The Regina Pats (20-19-3-0) are back on home ice Sunday afternoon to take on the Prince Albert Raiders (15-17-6-2). Puck drop is at 4:00 p.m. at the Brandt Centre. The Pats were in Swift Current on Saturday night and lost 4-2 to the Broncos. The Raiders meanwhile were home to the Red Deer Rebels and picked up a 2-1 victory. Tonight is the fourth of eight meetings between the two clubs in 2017-18, The Pats hold a 3-0-0-0 record so far in the season series. The Lead Up: Late goals sink Pats in Swift Current Saturday

The Regina Pats gave up two goals in the final five minutes and fell 4-2 in Swift Current to the Broncos on Saturday night. Swift got off to a good start with two goals in the opening 12 minutes to lead 2-0 after the opening frame. The Pats turned it around in the second when Bryan Lockner tipped home his sixth of the season to cut the lead in half. Then late in the period, Nick Henry jammed in his seventh and it was a 2-2 game after 40 minutes. It stayed that way until the Broncos took the lead back with just under 5 minutes left off the stick of Matteo Gennaro. The Broncos added another late for the 4-2 victory. Regina outshot Swift Current 35-28, the powerplay was one for four, the penalty kill two for two and Jacob Wassermann and Tyler Brown combined to make 24 saves.

Head to Head

Tonight is the fourth of eight meetings on the year between the Pats and Raiders with Regina holding a 3-0-0-0 record in the season series. Twice the Pats have picked up overtime wins and the other came 2-1 in regulation. Matt Bradley leads the Pats with a goal and five assists in the three games, Josh Mahura has two goals and two assists while Jake Leschyshyn has scored twice. Tyler Brown has started all three games and has put up a 1.91 goals against average and a .943 save percentage. The Raiders are led by Spencer Moe, Brayden Pachal and Jordy Stallard who each have three assists against Regina. Prince Albert enters Sunday five points back of the Pats for the final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference.

Pats Acquire Austin Pratt from Red Deer

The Pats acquired 18-year-old forward Austin Pratt from the Red Deer Rebels in exchange for a third round pick in the 2019 WHL Bantam Draft on Saturday. Pratt (6'3, 205) is playing in his third season in the Western Hockey League. So far this season, the Lakeville, Minnesota product has scored seven goals and has nine assists for 16 points in 39 games. Over his 165 game career, Pratt has put up 31 goals and 31 assists. His best season came in 2016-17 when he scored 16 goals and had 34 points in 70 games. Pratt was originally a fourth round pick by the Rebels in 2014. He represented Team USA at the 2016 Ivan Hlinka Memorial Championship, winning a silver medal.
