Calgary Flames Recall DuPont From St. John's

Calgary, AB - Calgary Flames Vice-President & General Manager Craig Button announced today defenceman Micki DuPont has been recalled from the Saint John Flames and forward Ryan Christie has been re-assigned to Saint John.

DuPont played in 77 games with Saint John this season recording 40 points (7 goals, 33 assists) and 77 penalty minutes. The native of Calgary was first on Saint John in defence scoring (40), third on the team in points (40) and first in assists (33). This season DuPont was named the Saint John Flames' NBTel Top Defenceman and during the 2000-01 season was named to the AHL All-Rookie Team. During the 1999-00 campaign with the Kamloops Blazers (WHL) DuPont was named CHL/WHL Defenceman of the Year after posting 88 points (26 goals, 62 assists) in 70 games. The Flames drafted DuPont in the ninth round, 270th overall, in the 2000 Entry Draft.

Christie, a 6'3" 200 lbs. winger, played in 77 games with Saint John this season scoring 21 goals, 18 assists for 39 points while adding 61 penalty minutes. Christie made his Flames' debut this past weekend playing in Nashville and Chicago. Christie was fourth on Saint John in points (39), tied for first in goals (21) and first in power play goals (13). Christie has played In seven NHL games. The Flames signed the native of Beamsville, ON as a free agent on July 1, 2001. Christie was Dallas' fourth choice, 112th overall in the 1996 NHL Entry Draft.
