
Ducks edge Wolves in playoff series opener

CHICAGO, IL - Adam Edinger's goal with 3:08 left in the third period snapped a tie and lifted the Cincinnati Mighty Ducks to a 3-2 victory over the Chicago Wolves Tuesday at Allstate Arena in the opener of a best-of-three Western Conference Qualifying playoff series.
Antti-Jussi Niemi added a goal and an assist for the Ducks, who posted a 2-3-0-1 record against the Wolves in the regular season, including 1-2-0-0 at Allstate Arena. Timo Parssinen and Jarrett Smith each contributed a pair of assists.
Kurtis Foster and Derek MacKenzie scored for the Wolves, who were 0-for-3 on the power-play.
Jason Elliott made 35 saves in the win, while Frederic Cassivi turned aside 28 shots for Chicago.
The Ducks and Wolves play the second game of the series at Allstate Arena Wednesday at 8:00 p.m. (EST).
