TORONTO, ONTARIO - Hamilton Bulldogs forward Mike Blunden potted two goals and set up another to lead a potent 'Dogs (25-25-1-4) offence to a 5-2 win over the Toronto Marlies (32-18-2-2) on Saturday afternoon at Ricoh Coliseum in Toronto, Ontario.

Bulldogs forward Gabriel Dumont opened the scoring at 6:34 of the first period with his team co-leading 14th goal of the season. Blunden rounded the back of the net and fed Dumont in front for the goal. Forward Louis Leblanc drew a second assist on the sequence.

Marlies defenceman Stuart Percy tied the game 1-1 with just over three minutes to go in the opening frame when his point shot was inadvertently deflected by Dumont past Bulldogs goaltender Robert Mayer. Defenceman Petter Granberg and forward Jerred Smithson earned assists.

Just under six minutes into the second period, Blunden tipped home a point shot by defenceman Greg Pateryn for his 12th goal of the season to give Hamilton a 2-1 lead. Dumont collected a second assist on the play.

At 10:38 of the second period, Hamilton forward Maxime Macenauer took the puck around the Toronto goal, then fed forward Sven Andrighetto in front, who fired home his team co-leading 14th goal of the season to put the 'Dogs ahead 3-1. Forward Christian Thomas notched a second assist.

Less than three minutes later, Toronto forward Jerry D'Amigo was credited with a goal that trickled past Mayer to cut Hamilton's lead to 3-2, with assists from Granberg and Percy.

With three seconds to go in the second period, 'Dogs forward Justin Courtnall potted his fifth goal of the season, assisted by forward Patrick Holland, to put Hamilton ahead 4-2.
