Hamilton Bulldogs News Release
MILWAUKEE, WI - The Hamilton Bulldogs were shutout 3-0 by the Milwaukee Admirals after a 25-save performance from goaltender Pekka Rinne on Tuesday night at the Bradley Center. The loss was the âDogs fourth-straight and drops their record to 31-26-2-5 on the season.
At 3:26 of the first period, Kyle Chipchura was awarded a penalty shot for the Bulldogs. Rinne turned aside Chipchura's wrist shot for the Admirals and the game remained scoreless.
Milwaukee opened the scoring at 7:01 of the middle stanza on the power play when Jason Guerriero buried his ninth goal of the season. Mark Matheson and Matt Ellison drew helpers on the goal.
Ellison then gave the Admirals a two-goal lead at the 14:31 mark of the second period on the power play with his 21st tally of the campaign. The 2-0 goal chased Bulldogs' starting netminder Yann Danis from between the pipes in favour of Cedrick Desjardins.
Exactly six seconds after Hamilton had killed off another penalty, Milwaukee struck again at 2:02 of the third frame when Mike Santorelli picked up a rebound and chipped home his 17th goal of the season. Guerriero and Josh Langfeld earned assists on the 3-0 goal.
Danis made 16 saves on 18 shots and suffered the loss, and Desjardins turned aside nine of the 10 shots he faced in relief duty for the Bulldogs.
Hamilton was 0-for-1 on the power play while Milwaukee went 2-for-7 with the man advantage.
The game marked the ninth time this season that the Bulldogs have been shutout.
