
Weber Recalled By Buffalo

(Rochester, NY)... Rochester Americans General Manager Jody Gage announced today that the Buffalo Sabres have recalled defenseman Mike Weber. The recall is Weber's third this season.
Weber, 20, will reinforce a depleted Buffalo blueline as a result of several injuries to the Sabres defensive corps. The first-year Amerks blueliner has skated in four games with the with the Sabres this season. A native of Pittsburgh, Weber has collected 14 points (1+13) and 162 PIM in 56 American Hockey League contests with Rochester this season. His 162 PIM presently ranks him first on the team. The 6-foot-2, 199-pound defenseman was Buffalo's second-round selection (57th overall) in the 2006 NHL Entry Draft.
After starting off their long string of road games with a pair of losses in the Lone Star State, the Amerks to look to improve their record this weekend with the third and fourth of their five consecutive away games this month.
Rochester's weekend begins on Friday, March 14th as the Amerks take on the Syracuse Crunch at the War Memorial at Oncenter. The 7:30 p.m. contest is the ninth of 12 scheduled meetings between the divisional rivals and will be broadcast live on Hot Talk 1280 WHTK, whtk.com and B2 networks. The game will also be televised live on Time Warner SportsNet Channel 26. The Amerks fell 3-1 in their last meeting with the Crunch at the War Memorial at Oncenter on March 1st. Rochester is 2-5-0-1 this season and 78-63-15 all-time against the Columbus Blue Jackets' affiliate.
The weekend ends the night of Saturday, March 15th, as the Amerks head to the Broome County Veterans Memorial Arena to take on the Binghamton Senators. This thruway battle is the sixth meeting between the two teams. Rochester has not yet collected a win against the B-Sens this season, falling 4-0 in its last meeting. The 7:05 p.m. contest can be heard on Hot Talk 1280 WHTK and whtk.com immediately following the Rochester Knighthawks' National Lacrosse League game and live on B2 networks. The Amerks are 18-21-4 all-time against the Ottawa Senators' affiliate.
