
Bulldogs record 300th regular season win and largest crowd of the season

Hamilton Bulldogs News Release
This week the Hamilton Bulldogs will travel to Chicago to face the Wolves at the Allstate Arena on Tuesday, January 11th at 8:00 p.m. The Bulldogs will return home for a two-game weekend series against the Cincinnati Mighty Ducks at Copps Coliseum. Hamilton will host the Mighty Ducks on Friday, January 14th at 7:30 p.m., and on Saturday, January 15th at 7:00 p.m.
Bulldogs fans can purchase tickets for upcoming games at the Copps Coliseum Box Office, all Ticketmaster outlets or by calling Ticketmaster at (905) 527-7666.
The Hamilton Bulldogs notched their 300th regular season win and Jason Ward recorded the club's 2000th regular season goal of all-time in a 4-1 victory against the St. John's Maple Leafs on Tuesday, January 4th. The Bulldogs split their two-game road trip in St. John's, as they finished with a 3-2 loss on Wednesday. The club then returned home and defeated the Grand Rapids Griffins 5-2 on Friday, January 7th. Hamilton rounded out the week on Saturday, January 8th by playing in front of 10,951 fans at Copps Coliseum and lost 3-2 to the St. John's Maple Leafs. The Bulldogs finished the week with a two wins and two losses.

TEAM NOTES
The Bulldogs are currently in fifth place in the North Division two points ahead of Cleveland and eight points behind St. John's... Hamilton is 10-3-0-1 when leading after two periods...The Bulldogs now have 2011 regular season goals... Hamilton has out shot their opponent in the last four games...The Bulldogs surpassed the 10,000 attendance mark for the first time this season on Saturday.
Corey Locke has five points (3-2-5) in the last five games and is tied with Tomas Plekanec with a team-leading 24 points (12-12-24) on the season. Locke is also currently tied with Norfolk's Rene Bourque for fourth place in the AHL rookie-scoring race
Steve Ott is on a five-game point-scoring streak (2-3-5), and is four points behind Plekanec and Locke for the team lead in scoring, as he has earned 20 points (9-11-20) in 39 games played.
Chris Higgins netted two goals in Friday's 5-2 win over Grand Rapids. Higgins now has four points (2-2-4) in the past five games, and eight goals and ten assists for 18 points on the season.
James Sanford was recalled from Peoria Riverman of the ECHL on Monday, January 3rd and made his presence felt immediately by scoring in his first game against the Maple Leafs on Tuesday, January 4th. Sanford later in the week would score a power-play goal on Friday against Grand Rapids in his home debut at Copps Coliseum.
WEEK IN REVIEW:
Jan. 4 at St. John's (4-1 W) - Corey Locke scored twice, while Dan Jancevski added two assists to lead the Bulldogs to their 300th victory. The Bulldogs scored three times in the third period with a short-handed goal by Jason Ward and a power-play marker by James Sanford. Maple Leafs' forward Jason MacDonald scored with less than five minutes left to ruin the shutout bid. Goaltender Dan Ellis made 27 saves.
Jan. 5 at St. John's (2-3 L) - The Bulldogs gave up a 2-1 lead in third period despite out-shooting the Maple Leafs 37-21. Matt Stajan scored a short-handed goal late in the third period for the Maple Leafs, which turned out to the be game-winner.
Jan. 7 vs. Grand Rapids (5-2 W)- The Bulldogs came out firing with a five-goal performance over Grand Rapids. Chris Higgins led the team with two goals, while Corey Locke scored a goal and an assist. Trevor Daley added two assists. Yann Danis made 25 saves for the victory.
Jan. 8 vs. St. John's (2-3 L) - The largest crowd of the season was treated to a similar game as the Jan. 5 contest in St. John's. Once again the Bulldogs had a 2-1 lead, but fell just short by losing 3-2.
UPCOMING EVENTS
Walter Gretzky Night The most famous hockey dad of all time will be dropping the ceremonial face-off before the Hamilton Bulldogs home game on Friday, January 15th at 7:30 p.m. Walter will be in attendance for the entire night to watch the Bulldogs take on the Cincinnati Mighty Ducks.
Glysomed Hand Cream Night
The first 2000 fans at the game on Saturday, January 16th at 7:00 p.m. versus the Cincinnati Mighty Ducks will receive a free sample of Glysomed hand cream. Special guest Mindy O'Brien, a professional fitness competitor, will be dropping the puck before the game.

This game is the second of four games scheduled this season between the Wolves and Bulldogs...Chicago won the first match-up 2-1 courtesy of Wolves forward Cory Larose, who had two points including the overtime game-winning goal...Goaltender Kari Lehtonen made 31 saves on 32 shots against the Bulldogs in that contest and is tied for second in the AHL with 18 wins...Wolves leading scorer J.P. Vigier has 35 points (14-21-35) and is a plus (+17) in 37 games this season
