Hamilton Bulldogs News Release
The Hamilton Bulldogs have reached a deal with Hamilton's 820 CHAM to broadcast all 80 Hamilton Bulldogs regular season games, plus all Calder Cup playoff games. Bulldogs play-by-play announcer Derek Wills will call all the action, while Hamilton radio personality Al Craig will provide the colour commentary for all home games and select road games. As well, at least ten Bulldogs regular season games will be aired on St. Catharines' 610 CKTB.
In addition to the live game coverage, the Hamilton Bulldogs will have a weekly radio show, which will air every Monday at 7:30 p.m., beginning October 27th on 820 CHAM. The show will be hosted by legendary 97.7 HTZFM personality Joe Cahill.
"We are very proud to partner with Hamilton's 820 CHAM and have our games broadcast throughout Southern Ontario," stated Hamilton Bulldogs president, Steve Katzman. "We look forward to having select Bulldogs games on 610 CKTB in St. Catharines, as well as bringing Bulldogs fans an all-new weekly radio show. Derek Wills is back as the voice of the Bulldogs as is our colour commentator Al Craig, which should make for another exciting year on air of Bulldogs hockey."
Tom Cooke, Vice President and General Manager of Standard Radio Incorporated said, "Our Team at 820 CHAM is proud to announce our continued partnership with the Hamiton Bulldogs into the 2003/2004 season! Commencing this Friday October 10th, 820 CHAM will once again, be carrying the entire 80 game schedule."
Cooke added, "Given the huge success of the Bulldogs last season, it was imperative for us to continue growing our partnership and importantly; expand it! 610 CKTB Radio, part of our Standard Radio Group serving listeners in the St. Catharines/Niagara Region, will be carrying a number of key games this season, details of which will soon be released! We are delighted to be associated with the Hamilton Bulldogs and we wish them the best in their pursuit of the Calder Cup this season!"
Derek Wills, the voice of the Hamilton Bulldogs, will return for his third season to call all the hockey club's action.
"Following what was an unforgettable 105-game rookie season on 820 CHAM, I am looking forward to once again teaming up with my good friend, and broadcast partner Al Craig, to bring hockey fans across Southern Ontario every hit, every save, and every goal from what is sure to be another exciting season of AHL hockey in steel-town," said Wills.
Al Craig will once again join Wills for all Bulldogs home games and select road games.
"It's great to back on 820 CHAM," said Craig. "The fans reaction to the broadcasts last season was wonderful. I look forward to working with Derek again and expect another exciting year from the Bulldogs."
