Binghamton Senators News Release


BINGHAMTON, New York – The 2002-03 East Division champion Binghamton Senators, top developmental affiliate of the Ottawa Senators – NHL, signed defenseman Steve Bancroft and left wing Tony Tuzzolino to professional tryout agreements today.

Bancroft appeared in 29 games with Binghamton last season on loan from the St. Louis Blues organization, registering 12 points (1+11), 40 PIM, and +4. Bancroft started the season with Worcester (AHL) where he appeared in 21 games.

Tuzzolino split last season with Houston (AHL) and Louisiana (ECHL). With the Houston Aeros, Tuzzolino appeared in 50 games, scoring nine goals and 15 points.

Head Coach John Paddock announced that defensemen Kevin Bolibruck and Greg Zanon, along with forwards Arpad Mihaly and Shaun Sutter, were released by the club prior to the morning practice.

Binghamton's roster now stands at 20 skaters (7 defensemen and 13 forwards) and two goaltenders.

Binghamton opens the regular season on Friday, October 10th, in Philadelphia (7:05 p.m.). The Sens' home opener is the following evening, October 11th, at the Arena against the Rochester Americans (7:05 p.m.). All fans in attendance on October 11th will witness the unveiling of the East Division Championship banner and receive a miniature replica division championship banner courtesy of the Sens and the Binghamton Senators Booster Club.

Tickets for the October 11th home opener, as well as all regular season games, are now on sale at the Sens' Executive Office – 3rd Floor of the Arena, the Center Ice Team Shop at Metrocenter, the Arena box office, and at all Ticketmaster outlets. 2003-04 season tickets are available only at the Senators' Executive Office – 3rd Floor of the Arena, open from 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.
