TACOMA, Wash. - Six shutout innings from Bryan Evans helped spark the Tacoma Rainiers (61-64) to a 6-4 victory over the visiting Fresno Grizzlies (72-54) on Sunday afternoon at Cheney Stadium.

Evans (6-2) tossed his best start of the season, holding the Grizzlies off the scoreboard for six innings while allowing just four hits. He struck out a season-high eight batters and didn't issue a walk while earning his sixth win with Tacoma.

Designated hitter David Freitas and center fielder Andrew Aplin led the Rainiers on offense - they both went 3-for-4 with a double apiece while scoring two runs. Left fielder Ben Gamel (2x4, R) picked up his eighth multi-hit performance in his last 16 outings, and right fielder Cameron Perkins (1x4, 2 RBI) drove in a pair of runs.

Rehabbing Houston Astros second baseman and reigning American League Most Valuable Player, José Altuve, finished the game 1-for-3 with a single and a strikeout.

Mike Morin (0.0 IP) relieved Evans and allowed three runs on four hits, while Nick Rumbelow (1.2 IP) surrendered one run on three hits while striking out two. Shawn Armstrong (1.1 IP) locked down the final four outs, earning his 14th save of the year.
