
Bruins win in shootout

The Providence Bruins saw a 4-2 third period lead in Albany evaporate on Wednesday night, forcing overtime and a shootout. The Bruins persevered, winning in the shootout, 5-4 over the River Rats. The win improved the Bruins' record to 11-10-2-2 (26 points), tying them with the Worcester IceCats for third place in the Atlantic Division standings.
Bruin defensemen Darrel Scoville, Kevin Dallman and Jay Leach each scored his first goal of the season, while center Patrice Bergeron added his 10th. In the shootout, left wing Andy Hilbert and center Keith Aucoin scored to put the Bruins up 2-0. Goaltender Cody Rudkowsky stopped Albany's fourth shot, by Ivan Khomutov, to cement the win.
Rudkowsky stopped 25 shots for his second win of the season.
The Bruins return home to host the Hartford Wolf Pack on Friday, December 10 at 7:05 p.m. Children under 14 will receive a free Providence Bruins Buggles stapler, pencil sharpener or hole punch, courtesy of Stanley Bostich.
The Bruins also host the Binghamton Senators on Sunday, December 12 at 4:05 p.m. Following the game, Bruin players Jay Henderson and Chris Dyment will sign autographs on the Dunkin' Donuts Center concourse behind Section 110.
This weekend's games will also mark the kickoff of the Bruins' Toys for Tots collections. Bruins wives and girlfriends will collect unopened toys in the Dunkin' Donuts Center lobby before both games, to be donated to the Toys for Tots program.
