Bruins Assign Lane MacDermid to Providence

BOSTON, MA - Boston Bruins General Manager Peter Chiarelli announced today that the club has assigned forward Lane MacDermid to the Providence Bruins (American Hockey League).

In Providence this season, the 6'3" 205-pound forward has four goals and 11 assists and 115 penalty minutes in 65 games. Last year, he recorded seven goals, 12 assists and 158 penalty minutes, which ranked third on the P-Bruins.

MacDermid was recalled for the second time this season on Wednesday, April 4 and was a healthy scratch in the team's win over Ottawa on Thursday, April 5. He has appeared in five NHL games this season and recorded five penalty minutes for the team.

MacDermid was originally drafted the Boston Bruins in the fourth round (112th overall) in the 2009 NHL Entry Draft.
