Chicago Wolves News Release
The Vancouver Canucks have assigned right wing NICKLAS JENSEN (NIHK-luhs YEHN-suhn) to the Chicago Wolves.
JENSEN completed his second Ontario Hockey League season on April 1 when the Oshawa Generals were defeated, 4-games-to-2, by the Niagara IceDogs in the first round of the OHL's Eastern Conference Championship. He recorded 4 assists and 5 points in six postseason games.
The 19-year-old forward ranked third among Oshawa skaters with 25 goals and shared third on the team with 58 points in 57 regular-season contests. He also ranked second on the Generals with a career-best 33 assists.
The Herning, Denmark, native was the Vancouver Canucks first choice, 29th overall, in the 2011 National Hockey League Entry Draft after he recorded 29 goals, 29 assists and 58 points in 61 games with Oshawa last year en route to being named to the 2011 OHL All-Rookie Team.
Overall, JENSEN amassed 54 goals, 62 assists, and 116 points in 118 career OHL games with Oshawa spanning two seasons (2010-12).
The Wolves continue their season-high seven-game road trip when they visit the Houston Aeros at 7:30 p.m. tonight at the Toyota Center. For information or to buy tickets to Wolves home games, visit chicagowolves.com or call 1-800-THE-WOLVES.
