Aeros suffer 4-2 loss

HOUSTON --- Joel Broda and Nick Palmieri scored for the Houston Aeros in a 4-2 loss to the Chicago Wolves Friday night at Toyota Center.

Matt Hackett made 23 saves for the Aeros, who fall to 32-24-5-10.

Palmieri put Houston back on top 2-1 with a goal at 18:26 in the second period. Palmieri has scored in three straight games.

Chicago tied the game on a Steve Reinprecht goal at 14:11 in the third period, and Mark Mancari put the Wolves up 3-2 with a goal 26 seconds later. Darren Haydar scored an empty net goal at 19:22 in the third to make it 4-2.

Broda scored at 2:38 into the second period to give the Aeros a 1-0 lead, but Chicago tied it at 1-1 with a Jordan Schroeder power play goal at 16:46 in the second.

The Aeros continue a five-game homestand Saturday against the Peoria Rivermen at 7:35 p.m. at Toyota Center.
