Providence Bruins News Release

The Providence Bruins conducted their annual team awards ceremony prior to the start of Sunday's regular season finale, including three awards voted by the players themselves, and one by Bruin fans.

Left wing Andy Hilbert was voted by his teammates as the club's Most Valuable Player. The 24-year-old native of Howell, Michigan, who also took home the Leading Scorer trophy, posted career-high 37-42-79 totals in 79 games. The 2004-05 season marked the second time in his four-year career that Hilbert has been the team's top scorer. He also led the team as a rookie in 2001-02.

Hilbert rewrote the franchise record book in 2004-05, becoming the franchise career leader in goals (101), assists (109), points (210) and power play goals (37). He also ranks second in franchise history with eight shorthanded goals and ranks sixth with 234 games played.

Kevin Dallman was voted by his teammates as the Bruins' Best Defenseman for the second consecutive season. He joins former Bruin Brandon Smith as the only multiple winner of the award in franchise history. The third-year pro led all Bruin blueliners with 8-26-34 totals in 71 games.

Center Ben Guite and right wing Colton Orr were selected by their teammates as the Bruins' Unsung Heroes. Guite posted 9-15-24 totals in 77 games, while Orr had 1-6-7 totals and 279 PIM in 61 games.

Left wing David Gove took home the Plus/Minus trophy, leading the team with a +14 rating.

Center Brad Boyes was the winner of the Three Stars trophy. Boyes, who was celebrating his 23rd birthday, finished second on the team with career-high 33-42-75 totals in 80 games. He was the only Bruin, and fifth in franchise history, to play in all 80 games.

Left wing and co-captain Jay Henderson won the Community Service award for the third time in his Providence career. Henderson, also the team's winner of the AHL Man of the Year Award, won the Bruins' honor in 2000-01 and 2001-02.

Center Patrice Bergeron and goaltender Hannu Toivonen were voted by Bruin fans as the co-recipients of the Hendricks Memorial Fan Appreciation Award. Bergeron finished fourth on the team with 21-40-61 totals in 68 games. Toivonen was 29-18-3 with a 2.05 GAA, .932 save percentage and seven shutouts.
