
Aeros' attendance increases for second straight season

HOUSTON, Texas â The American Hockey League's Houston Aeros have increased their attendance from a previous season for the second consecutive season, the team announced Sunday after drawing 6,636 to their Fan Appreciation Night. The Aeros welcomed 226,790 fans this season for an average of 5,670, up from totals of 214,508 and 5,363 in 2003-04. That's an increase of six percent.
The Aeros' average attendance of 5,670 ranks them 12th in the 28-team American Hockey League and third in the West Division behind league-leading Chicago (9,209) and Grand Rapids (6,659).
Prior to the 2003-04 season, the Aeros had never increased their attendance over a prior campaign.
