March 14, 2006 - Arena Football League (1987-2008) (AFL I)
Kansas City Brigade News Release

Arena Football in its first year in Kansas City is an instant success, thanks to the support of football-crazed fans in the area. The Brigade's inaugural home opener at Kemper Arena was an overflow sellout and the crowds have continued to be supportive. Kansas City is third in the league in total attendance (61,770 through four games) behind fellow expansion team Utah and perennial attendance leader Philadelphia. Kansas City is also third in average attendance (15,443 per home game), less than 300 fans behind the same two teams.

A breakdown of the Brigade's attendance in the first half of the home schedule (four games):

Week 3 vs. Austin - 16,532 (332 over capacity) - Inaugural game
Week 4 vs. Columbus - 14,632 - Team's first-ever win
Week 6 vs. Tampa Bay - 15,227
Week 7 vs. Philadelphia - 15,379 - First Monday night game and largest walk-up crowd

The inaugural home opener against Austin was one of the largest crowds to watch an Arena Football game this season. The Brigade has been in the top-five in total and average attendance since the season opened and has steadily moved up over the last few weeks. The pre-sale for the next home game, Saturday, April 1 at 7pm, is already over 13,250. It is the first Saturday night game and has a tremendous amount of group sales.

Tickets are still available for the Brigade's four remaining home games by calling TicketMaster (816-931-3330) or going to the Kemper Arena Box office.
