Columbus, OH - The Richmond Braves edged the Columbus Clippers 6-5 at Cooper Stadium Monday. The Braves rallied after spotting the Clippers a 5-0 first inning lead in Richmond's largest comeback win of the season.

The Clippers erupted in the first inning, scoring four of their five runs after there were two outs. Kory Castro knocked in a run with a ground out. Lance Broadway smacked a two-run homer. Brandon Harper doubled a run home. Melvin Dorta capped the rally with a run scoring single. Richmond got on the board in the third inning on a sacrifice fly by Larry Bigbie. The Braves fought back to tie the game with four runs in the fifth inning. A throwing error on a bunt by Brent Lillibridge brought Graham Koonce in to score. Doug Clark scored on another throwing error. Corky Miller smashed a two-run homer to knot the game at five. Pinch-hitter Carlos Mendez knocked in the winning run in the seventh with a ground out.

Ryan Baerlocher fought through the first inning to pitch six innings and earn the win. Manny Acosta picked up his 11th save. Chris Michalak took the loss. Clark, Lillibridge, and Miller each had two hits for the Braves. Michael Restovich had two hits for the Clippers.

The Braves wrap up their road trip with a 12:05 game Tuesday at Columbus. Kevin Barry is slated to pitch for the Braves against Joel Hanrahan. The two clubs move to The Diamond Wednesday.
