
Third FasMart Grand Slam Kid To Be Honored Wednesday

Richmond, VA - FasMart Stores, the Richmond Braves, the Richmond Times-Dispatch and the Virginia 529 College Savings Plan are pleased to announce that we have selected the third "FasMart Grand Slam Kid" for the 2007 season. Ms. Cameron Kiddy of Matoaca is this month's winner. Lindsay a sixth grade student at the Matoaca Middle School East Campus gifted program.
Cameron carries a 4.9 GPA and has received straight A's throughout her school career. She is also a gymnast in USA Gymnastics Junior Olympic program. Cameron has won a Virginia State Level 4 all-around championship. She captured a bronze medal on the balance beam in the Level 5 state championship, and recently earned a silver medal in the floor exercise at the Level 6 state championships. Cameron trains 12 hours a week while maintaining a challenging academic schedule.
Cameron is also an active member of her church, where she helped organize a used cell phone drive to aid victims of domestic violence. She is helping to organize a fundraiser with her Sunday school class for the Food for Poor organization. Cameron also knits baby hats for the Hands of Love ministry at her church. This group, mostly adults, knits various items for people in need in the community.
Her $500 scholarship will be announced at the Richmond Braves game versus Columbus Wednesday in pre-game ceremonies when she and her family will be guests of the Braves.
As one of the five monthly winners selected in this program, Cameron will be eligible for the $2500 scholarship to be awarded in September as the FasMart Grand Slam Kid of the Year.
