Green Bay Rockers News Release
WAUSAU, Wis. - The Green Bay Booyah dropped both games to the Wisconsin Woodchucks on Thursday at Athletic Park in Wausau.
In the first game, Green Bay got on the scoreboard first after Dayson Croes' (Quincy) sacrifice fly that scored Brendan Ryan (Texas A&M-Corpus Christi) in top of the third. The Woodchucks answered back by scoring one in both the bottom of the third and bottom of the fourth.
Green Bay evened it up in the sixth inning when Elias Flowers (Jacksonville) grounded out to first which allowed Brett Blair (Stanford) to score.
The game would go into extra innings and the Woodchucks walked off on a sacrifice fly to right field in foul territory.
Logan Lee (Northwood) pitched six innings and struck out four while allowing two runs. He finishes with a no decision.
In game two, the Booyah had to play catch up after falling behind after two innings by the minimum. The pendulum began to swing in the favor of the Booyah in the fifth when they scored four runs to take a three-run lead. Johnny Hipsman (Richmond) picked up an RBI in the frame while Ryan picked up two. Jack Duffy (Polk State College) scored on a wild pitch.
But the pendulum swung back to the Woodchucks' favor in the bottom half of the inning as they answered back with five runs. Tristin Garcia (Western Kentucky) hit a solo home run to right field to make the deficit one. In the seventh, the Booyah were able to load the bases, but a groundout halted the threat as they left them loaded.
Will Semb (Minnesota) pitched 1.2 innings out of the bullpen and struck out four of the seven batters he faced.
The Booyah will return to Capital Credit Union Park on Friday, July 30 as they host the Wisconsin Woodchucks. First pitch is scheduled for 6:35 pm.
