July 30, 2021 - Northwoods League (Northwoods)
Green Bay Rockers News Release
ASHWAUBENON, Wis. - The Green Bay Booyah fell to the Wisconsin Woodchucks on Friday night at Capital Credit Union Park, 8-3.
The Booyah had to play catch up all night as they fell 2-0 before taking a swing. After the Woodchucks scored another two in the third, Green Bay scored one when Brendan Ryan (Texas A&M-Corpus Christi) hit an RBI single that scored Jake Berg (Jacksonville).
The Woodchucks answered in the fourth with another run, but Green Bay scored another two thanks to a two-run home run by Dayson Croes (Quincy) made it a 5-3 ballgame.
But the Woodchucks would add some insurance in the seventh and eighth innings by scoring three runs to put the game out of reach.
Croes and Nadir Lewis (Princeton) each picked up a pair of hits in the loss. Booyah starter Boston Mabeus (BYU) struck out nine men in five innings of work.
The Booyah will welcome the Madison Mallards to Capital Credit Union Park on Saturday. Christian Orr (Columbia International) will get the start for the Booyah. He is 2-0 on the season with a 1.93 ERA.
Matt Haley will start for the Mallards. He is 0-1 with a 9.20 earned run average.
First pitch on Saturday is scheduled for 6:35 pm. Kids will be able to run the bases postgame, presented by Culver's and Y100 FM. Fans can stay after the game for a Postgame Fireworks Show, presented by Pepsi.
