Boisclair Reassigned by NHL's Carolina to Greenville

Peoria, Ill. (December 12, 2003) – Head Coach/Director of Hockey Operations Jason Christie of the Peoria Rivermen of the ECHL announced today that rookie goaltender Daniel Boisclair has been reassigned by the NHL's Carolina Hurricanes to the Greenville Grrrowl. As compensation for the move, the Rivermen have received rookie goaltender Scott Kabotoff from Greenville.

Boisclair – 6-foot-2, 180 pound native of St. Augustin, Quebec – registered a 2-2-1 record for the Rivermen in five starts with a 1.78 goals against average (GAA) and a .944 save percentage. He posted his first career shutout on November 21 in Cincinnati, stopping 30 shots in a 2-0 win. He opened the season with the Florida Everblades, notching a 1-1-0 record.

Kabotoff – a 6-foot, 175-pound native of Sherwood Park, Alberta – posted a 3-4-1 record with a 3.90 GAA and a .876 save percentage in nine appearances for Greenville to open 2003-2004. The 24-year-old goaltender enjoyed a four-year NCAA Division college hockey career at the University of Wisconsin, the same college Rivermen goaltender Mike Valley spent two years at before becoming a professional. He posted collegiate career bests as a junior in appearances (24), minutes played (1379), wins (10), GAA (2.87) and save percentage (.920).

The Rivermen host the rival Johnstown Chiefs tonight in the first of two in a row between the clubs at Carver Arena. Game times are 7:05 p.m. Tonight, it is a Coca-Cola Finally Friday. Fans will receive a 2-for-1 Upper Bowl ticket offer when they present a Cherry Coke or Vanilla Coke can at the Carver Arena Box Office. It is also the U.S. Marine Corps' "Toys for Tots" Holiday Drive. Fans are encouraged to bring a new toy for charity. And the Rivermen will wear special Christmas Jerseys to be auctioned off immediately following the game. Tomorrow night, the Incredible Hulk stomps his way into Carver Arena and will sign autographs.
