Blues Recall Tyson Strachan

ST. LOUIS (October 10, 2009) - St. Louis Blues President John Davidson announced today the club has recalled defenseman Tyson Strachan from the Blues' American Hockey League affiliate, the Peoria Rivermen.

Strachan, 25, made his season debut on Friday night in Peoria's 4-3 shootout win over Milwaukee. He registered two shots on goal and picked up five penalty minutes with his first fight of the season. He was the last defenseman cut from Blues training camp.

Blues defenseman Barret Jackman was placed on injured reserve with a sprained left ankle.

The next Rivermen game is on Wednesday in Peoria at 7 p.m. when the Rivermen take on the Milwaukee Admirals for the second consecutive game. It is the fourth game of their season-long five-game homestand to start the season.
