Canucks recall Guillaume Desbiens

The Vancouver Canucks, the NHL affiliate of the Manitoba Moose, today announced they have recalled forward Guilaume Desbiens from the Moose.

Desbiens, 24, has played in three games so far this season with the Moose and collected seven penalty minutes. Last season, the Alma, PQ native appeared in 78 games with the Moose where he scored 47 points (21g & 26a) and collected 158 minutes for his best AHL season so far. Over the span of his career, Desbiens has played in 161 AHL games between Manitoba and Chicago were he has amassed 59 points (26g & 33a) and 320 penalty minutes. In the previous two seasons, Desbiens has battled in the Calder Cup Finals and won the title in 2008 with the Chicago Wolves. In his playoff run with the Moose last season he appeared in all 22 games and racked up 12 points (4g & 8a) along with 18 penalty minutes. Desbiens was originally drafted by the Atlanta Thrashers in the fourth round, 116th overall, in the 2003 NHL Entry Draft.
