LAKEWOOD, NJ - Sebastian Valle delivered a two-run single with the bases loaded and one out in the 8th, and the BlueClaws won 4-2 Friday night over Kannapolis.

Valle went 2-for-4 with three RBIs, but his bases loaded single brought home the winning runs for Lakewood. With the victory and Hickory's 7-4 loss to Greenville, the BlueClaws are now two games up in first with two games left in the first half.

Jonathan Pettibone made his third start since coming off the DL for the Claws, and allowed just a solo home run to Kyle Colligan in 5 2/3 innings of work. Colligan's shot put Kannapolis up 1-0 in the 4th.

Lakewood tied the game in the 5th. Adam Buschini doubled with two outs, and Alan Schoenberger brought him in with a base hit to even the score at 1-1.

A Valle RBI double in the 6th gave the Claws a 2-1 lead, before Kannapolis tied the game on a Josh Zeid wild pitch with a runner on third in the 8th.

Despite allowing the run Zeid (5-1) was credited with the win, and Ebelin Lugo threw a scoreless ninth for his first save of the season. Intimidators reliever Garrett Johnson (2-3) took the loss.

Saturday at 7:05 pm RHP Jarred Cosart (7-1, 3.25) takes the hill versus Kannapolis RHP Justin Collop (3-5, 6.03) at FirstEnergy Park.
