Blue Jackets Recall Goaltender Anton Forsberg, Assign Center Sean Collins to Falcons

Springfield, Mass. - The Columbus Blue Jackets have activated left wing Scott Hartnell from Injured Reserve, added goaltender Anton Forsberg to the roster on emergency recall from the Springfield Falcons and assigned center Sean Collins to Springfield, Blue Jackets General Manager Jarmo Kekalainen announced today.

Hartnell, 32, has missed the past five games due to a broken finger suffered on Dec. 11 at Washington. He has recorded six goals and 11 assists for 17 points with 39 penalty minutes in 28 games during his first season with the Blue Jackets. Acquired from the Philadelphia Flyers in a trade in June 2014, the 14-year NHL veteran has tallied 256-298-554 and 1,491 penalty minutes in 981 career games with the Blue Jackets, Flyers and Nashville Predators. The Regina, Saskatchewan native posted 20-32-52 with 103 penalty minutes in 78 games in 2013-14.

Forsberg, 21, made his NHL debut on Nov. 1 at New Jersey and recorded 26 saves in a 3-2 loss to the Devils. He has posted a 0-1-0 record with a 5.30 goals-against average and .841 save percentage in two games with Columbus this season. The Harnosand, Sweden native currently sits second among AHL netminders in wins, save percentage and goals-against average, posting a 14-3-0 record with a 1.75 goals-against average, .938 save percentage and two shutouts in 18 games with Springfield.

Columbus' sixth pick, 188th overall, in the 2011 NHL Draft, Forsberg is 17-3-0 with a 1.65 goals-against average and .941 save percentage in 22 career AHL games since making his North American professional debut with the Falcons late in the 2013-14 season.

Collins, 25, has appeared in two games with Columbus this season. He also has collected 10-9-19 and 14 penalty minutes with a +2 plus/minus rating in 27 games with Springfield. Columbus' ninth pick, 187th overall, in the 2008 NHL Draft, he has registered 0-1-1, six penalty minutes and is -2 in 13 career NHL games. The Saskatoon, Saskatchewan native has also notched 38-58-96, 72 penalty minutes and is +29 in 166 career AHL games, including 16-25-41, 34 penalty minutes and was +9 in 67 games last season.
