After a fly out, Jason Martinson drew a two-out walk to extend the inning. Haviland then hit Kevin Keyes to load the bases. Matt Skole followed with a two-run single to center field to push the Chiefs' lead to 3-1.

Pawtucket answered with a run in the bottom of the inning. Jemile Weeks singled to lead off the frame. After Marco Hernandez singled with one out, Rivero drove in his second run of the game with a single to cut the lead to 3-2.

The Chiefs grabbed a fourth run in the fourth. Caleb Ramsey reached on a leadoff single. He moved to second on Dan Butler's walk. Johnson sacrificed Ramsey to third, and Ramsey scored on a groundout by Burriss to make the score 4-2.

Syracuse finished off the scoring in the eighth. Kevin Keyes started the inning with a fly ball to shallow left-center field, which Weeks dropped for an error. Skole followed with a walk. Keyes advanced to third on a flyout and scored on Ramsey's single to extend the lead to 5-2. Butler followed with a double to score Skole and cap the lead at 6-2.

Syracuse and Pawtucket play the rubber game of the three-game set Wednesday, the final game between the two clubs this year. A.J. Cole is scheduled to start for the Chiefs opposite Zeke Spruill for the PawSox. First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 p.m.
