Tulsa Oilers News Release

BLOOMINGTON, IL - Jon Booras did his best to make sure his team wasn't going to lose to the Oilers (11-8-2) for a second straight time. The Bloomington forward tallied two goals in the second period and gave the Blaze the lead for good in a 4-2 win in front of 2,092 at the U.S. Cellular Coliseum.

Chris Chambers opened the scoring for the Blaze (5-12-2) just two minutes into the first period and Bloomington took a 1-0 lead into the first intermission.

Booras gave the home side a 2-goal advantage 37 seconds into the second frame when he tipped a centering feed from Brodie Sheahan past Oilers goalie Mike Garman. Tulsa responded quickly with a powerplay goal from Michel Beausoleil at 2:36 of the second. Ryan Raven deflected Luke Lucyk's shot past Zane Kalemba to even the score at 2-2 at the 9:16 mark. But Booras wasn't quite finished. He fired a low shot past Garman at 10:31 of the second period to put Bloomington back on top. Booras finished with two goals and an assist.

The Oilers had their share of chances in the third but Kalemba made 10 more saves and Jason Dale put the game away for the Blaze with an empty net marker with a minute to play.

Garman takes the loss for Tulsa despite stopping 42 of the 45 shots he faced.

The Oilers are back home Tuesday night for a tilt with the Texas Brahmas at 7:05pm.

Tickets: Season tickets for the Oilers 20th season in the CHL are now on sale. More information is available by calling the Oilers office at (918) 632-PUCK (7825) or by visiting www.tulsaoilers.com.
