Fort Worth Brahmas News Release

WICHITA, Kansas (December 10) - The Brahmas came into the game having won four straight games, but the Thunder ended the streak Saturday night, topping Texas 2-1 in the second game between the two teams in as many nights.

Just as Friday's game began, the Thunder got out to an early lead, despite only getting three shots on goal in the opening period. Alex Bourret put Wichita up 1-0 at the 5:53 mark of the first period with his seventh goal of the season.

After a scoreless second frame, Chad Woollard scored his ninth goal of the season at the 4:20 mark of the third period to tie the score at one apiece. For Woollard, it was his fifth goal and seventh point in his last five games.

But midway through the period, the Thunder answered as Alex Summers took a pass in front of the net and snuck the puck past Brahmas goaltender Steve Silverthorn for the game-winner.

Silverthorn made 17 saves on 19 shots fired by the Thunder, but Wichita netminder Adam Russo was simply too good on Saturday. The Brahmas managed only 20 shots, but Russo stopped 19 of them, allowing just the one goal to Woollard.

The Brahmas have two road tests next weekend, as they travel to Tulsa to take on the Oilers on Tuesday, December 13 and to Allen to take on the crosstown rival Americans on Friday, December 16.

Texas returns to North Richland Hills on Saturday, December 17 when they face off against the Rapid City Rush at the NYTEX Sports Centre at 7:30pm.

For ticket information, call 817-336-4423 or visit www.brahmas.com . The NYTEX Sports Centre offers speedy and reliable Wi-fi provided by Great Auk Wireless. Also, visit ZuRoma at the NYTEX Sports Centre and Keller locations. All Brahmas away games will now be shown at ZuRoma through CHL-TV.
