December 10, 2011 - Central Hockey League (CHL)
Fort Worth Brahmas News Release

Texas - The Brahmas found themselves down 2-0 early to the Wichita Thunder on Friday night, but completed the comeback behind two third-period goals from rookie Kyle Howarth.

The Thunder got out in front within the first minute of the game as Alex Bourret scored on a penalty shot at the 0:47 mark of the first period. Wichita added another goal at the 15:26 mark to take a 2-0 when Kevin Seibel scored his first goal of the season. Just three minutes later though, Phil Fox weaved his way through the Thunder defense and put the puck past goalie Adam Russo for his seventh goal of the season, bringing the Brahmas within one at the end of the first period.

After a scoreless second frame, Kyle Howarth tied the game 10 minutes into the third period off of a setup from alternate captain Chad Woollard. For Howarth, it was his third goal of the season, but he was not done yet. With only 48 seconds remaining in regulation, Howarth added his second goal of the night, giving the Brahmas their first lead of the game.

Texas netminder Mark Guggenberger had another strong outing, saving 23 of the 25 shots fired by the Thunder. Guggenberger improved to 7-1-1 on the season and lowered his league-best GAA to 2.16.

The Brahmas have now won four straight games and look to make it five as they hit the road to face off against the Thunder again on Saturday in Wichita. Texas returns to the NYTEX Sports Centre on Saturday, December 17 to take on the Rapid City Rush at 7:30pm.
