
Blades Swing Deal for Bakersfield's David

ESTERO, FL - Florida Everblades President and General Manager Craig Brush along with Head Coach Greg Poss announced today that the team has acquired defenseman Jean-Francois David from the Bakersfield Condors in exchange for defenseman Phil Paquet.
David comes to the Everblades having collected 22 points (7g, 15a) and 59 penalty minutes in 39 games with the Condors this season. The 28-year-old leads all Bakersfield defenseman in scoring and ranks sixth overall on the team in scoring.
Last season the Blainville, Quebec native split the year between the Elmira Jackals of the ECHL and the Springfield Falcons of the American Hockey League. In 20 games with the Jackals David notched seven points (1g, 6a) and recorded another eight points (1g, 8a) in 27 games with Springfield.
The veteran blue liner brings with him to the Everblades 320 professional games of experience during which he has tallied 174 points (40g, 134a) and 467 PIM. His career, which began in 2002-03 with the Trenton Titans of the ECHL, has also included stops in the ECHL with the South Carolina Stingrays, Texas Wildcatters and Elmira Jackals.
David's career has also seen him log 80 games of experience in the American Hockey League with Bridgeport, Hershey, Manitoba, Binghamton and Springfield, while also spending time during his career in the Central Hockey League with Laredo and the United Hockey League with Danbury.
In addition to his play in North America the 6-foot-1, 190 pound d-man has spent three seasons overseas playing in Germany, Austria and France.
In return, the Everblades send Paquet to the Condors. The 24-year-old has 19 points (2g, 17a) in 49 games with the Everblades this season. Last year as a rookie the Quebec City, Quebec native notched 15 points (2g, 13a) in 53 games with Florida. A former 7th round draft pick by the Montreal Canadiens in 2005, Paquet joined the professional ranks after completing a four-year collegiate career at Clarkson University.
