The Elmira Jackals announced on Wednesday that they have been assigned forward Yannick Tifu by their AHL affiliate, the Binghamton Senators and that goaltender Marco Cousineau has been reassigned to the club by their NHL affiliate, the Anaheim Ducks from their AHL affiliate, the Syracuse Crunch. Additionally, goaltender Timo Pielmeier has been reassigned by Anaheim to Syracuse.

Tifu is second on Elmira with 45 points (14g-31a) in 2010-2011, his second season with the team. A sixth-year pro from Brossard, Quebec, Tifu's three short-handed goals lead the Jackals. Last season, Tifu was fourth on the Jackals with 56 points in 41 games after being acquired from the Victoria Salmon Kings early in the season.

Cousineau has tended net for Elmira in 26 games in his rookie season, posting a 12-8-4-0 record with a .891 save percentage and a 3.40 goals-against average. The St. Lazare, Quebec product was awarded the Hap Emms Memorial Trophy as the top goaltender at the Memorial Cup in 2009 with Drummondville (QMJHL) while also leading Saint John to the QMJHL finals in 2010. Cousineau was drafted 83rd overall in the third round of the 2008 NHL Entry Draft by the Ducks.

Pielmeier won his first game with Elmira on Sunday in his second start with the club, making 26 saves on 27 shots in a 3-1 win in Ontario.
