AUGUSTA, GA - The Florida Everblades (6-5-0) coughed up three second period goals in Augusta on Thursday night, helping the Lynx to a 5-3 win at James Brown Arena in front of a crowd of 2,785.

The Everblades came out strong to open the game, but gave up the game's first goal before rallying for a pair to take a 2-1 lead after one period. The Lynx (5-5-1) opened the scoring 10:58 into the first period with a power play goal by Will Bodine, who's shot from the point found it's way into the net for a 1-0 Augusta lead. The Everblades however responded 15 seconds later when Mathieu Melanson registered his 6th goal of the season with a wrist shot from the right circle that snuck past Lynx goaltender Nathan Marsters at 11:13. Ernie Hartlieb and Derek Damon assisted on the tally.

The Everblades then grabbed the lead at 14:46 when Brad Herauf notched his first goal of the year after scooping up a rebound from a Brett Peterson shot and chipped it over the glove of Marsters. Kyle McAllister notched the second assists on the goal, which was the 50th of Herauf's career.

The game took on a new look in the second period as the Lynx outscored the Everblades 3-0 in the middle frame to grab a 4-2 lead after two periods. Aaron Slattengren began the scoring barrage with his 6th goal of the season at 6:44 when he scooped up a loose puck just inside the Everblades zone and beat Everblades net-minder Tyler Plante inside the left post. Augusta took the lead back at 11:39 on Adrian Veideman's second goal of the season, then the Lynx extended their lead to 4-2 with their second power play goal of the contest at 14:48 when Matt Auffrey lifted the puck from a goal-mouth scramble into the net.

Each team netted a third period goal with Augusta first opening a 5-2 lead on Louis Goulet's first goal of the season tapping in a loose puck after Justin Coutu's shot from the point hit the goalpost at 15:33. The Everblades did manage to cut the Augusta lead back down to two with one minute remaining in the contest on Herauf's second tally of the night. Brandon Roach collected the lone assist on the tally.

Plante saw his personal two-game winning streak come to an end after allowing the five goals on 30 shots to see his record fall to 2-2-0. Marsters notched the win between the pipes for the Lynx after turning away 29 of 32 shots, improving his record to 3-2-1.

On the power play, the Everblades closed out night 0-for-4, while the Lynx finished 2-for-7.
