Blackhawks Assign Morin to Rockford

Chicago, Ill.-The Chicago Blackhawks have assigned forward Jeremy Morin to the American Hockey League's Rockford IceHogs.

Morin, 19, has registered one assist, a +2 plus/minus rating and six shots on goal in five games with Chicago this season. At the time of his call-up, Morin led Rockford with six goals, including a team-high four power-play markers, and shared third with nine points (6G, 3A) in 17 AHL tilts in his professional debut.

Originally acquired in a trade with the Atlanta Thrashers on June 24, 2010, Morin tied for fourth in the Ontario Hockey League with 47 goals and ranked 12th with 83 points in 58 regular-season games in his rookie season with the Kitchener Rangers during the 2009-10 campaign. The Auburn, New York, native captured a Gold Medal with Team USA at the 2010 World Junior Championships, collecting five assists and seven points in seven games during the tournament.

LEBLANC BACK TO THE HOGS

Rockford, Ill.-The Rockford IceHogs have recalled forward Peter LeBlanc from loan from the Toledo Walleye of the ECHL.

LeBlanc, 22, leads the Walleye with 22 points (8G, 14A) in 22 games played in his rookie season in 2010-11. His 14 helpers also lead the team.

The Hamilton, Ontario native was drafted by the Chicago Blackhawks in the seventh round (#187 overall) in the 2006 NHL Entry Draft.

LeBlanc began the season with the IceHogs before being assigned to the Walleye. LeBlanc made his professional debut on Oct. 9 against Manitoba and has one assist in two games overall with the IceHogs this season.

LeBlanc completed a four-year career at the University of New Hampshire earlier this year where he compiled 34 goals and 51 assists in 153 games.
