Capitals Recall Mathieu Perreault from Hershey

ARLINGTON, Va. - The Washington Capitals have recalled center Mathieu Perreault from the Hershey Bears of the American Hockey League (AHL), vice president and general manager George McPhee announced today.

Perreault, 22, has played three games for the Capitals this season, collecting two assists. The 5'10", 175-pound native of Drummondville, Quebec, has recorded 25 points (8 goals, 17 assists) in 18 games for the Bears this season.

Perreault, who wears No. 85 for Washington, registered 50 points (16 goals, 34 assists) and 34 penalty minutes in 56 regular season games with Hershey during the 2009-10 campaign. He helped lead the Bears to the Calder Cup championship with 19 points (7 goals, 12 assists) and 18 penalty minutes in 21 playoff games. In addition, he collected nine points (four goals, five assists) and six penalty minutes in 21 games for the Capitals.

Perreault was drafted by the Capitals in the sixth round (177th overall) of the 2006 NHL Entry Draft.
