WORCESTER, MA - On a bright and sunny Sunday afternoon at Polar Park, the Buffalo Bisons fell to the Worcester Red Sox 10-6 in the series finale to leave town with a series split. The Bisons have still not lost a series so far this season.

It was another offence-filled day for the WooSox, who clubbed four home runs on their way to the win. The Bisons scored four early runs to chase Darwinzon Hernandez after just 1.1 innings, who recorded all four outs via the strikeout but walked three as he once again battled his command.

It was a good day at the plate for a pair of Blue Jays top prospects, however, as Gabriel Moreno went 2-4 with a walk and two RBIs, while Jordan Groshans reached base four times with a pair of singles and walks.

The WooSox scored two in the second off a two-run homer by Christin Stewart, but had a massive four-run third that was headlined by a three-run shot by Rob Refsnyder, and another four-run inning in the fifth that saw back-to-back jacks off the bats a couple top Red Sox prospects in Jeter Downs and Triston Casas.

The Bisons did score a pair of runs in the eighth after back-to-back RBI doubles from Logan Warmoth and Nathan Lukes, but were shutout in the ninth as Kaleb Ort finished the Bisons off on eight pitches.

It was a tough outing for Bisons starter Andrew Bash, who lasted 2.1 innings and gave up six runs off four hits and four walks. Following Bash was righthander Jake Elliott, who made his first Triple-A appearance of his career after throwing six innings with Double-A New Hampshire to begin the year. Elliott ultimately allowed four runs over two innings, before Graham Spraker took over and recorded seven outs without allowing a run.

The Bisons have an off day tomorrow, but will return home to Sahlen Field to welcome in the Durham Bulls for a six-game set beginning on Tuesday. The Bisons will open with Casey Lawrence on the mound in the opener, with first pitch set for 6:05 p.m. EST.
