
RailRiders Succumb to Pigs Again

MOOSIC, PA -The Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders dropped a fourth consecutive game to the Lehigh Valley IronPigs on Sunday afternoon, 9-3. Estevan Florial went two for five with an RBI and finished the series 7-for-18 with five walks.
Manny Bañuelos made his third start of the season for the RailRiders and allowed two runs over four innings with four strikeouts. Lehigh Valley countered with Colton Eastman who gave up one run in 4.1 innings in his fifth start.
Lehigh Valley took an early lead in the third inning on a run-scoring infield single from Dustin Peterson. Scranton/Wilkes-Barre answered immediately in the bottom half of the inning. Max McDowell led off the frame with a single and later scored on a wild pitch.
The tie didn't last long as Lehigh Valley went back ahead on a Will Toffey RBI single in the fourth. David McKay and Ron Marinaccio then combined to throw three shutout frames out of SWB's bullpen in the fifth through seventh innings.
The RailRiders rallied and jumped out in front in the seventh. Ryan LaMarre and Florial delivered back-to-back two-out, run-scoring hits to put Scranton/Wilkes-Barre ahead 3-2. LaMarre finished the day two for three.
The IronPigs took the lead for good in the eighth inning after RBI singles from Bryson Stott and Drew Maggi made it 4-3. Lehigh Valley added five insurance runs in the ninth on two home runs. Braeden Ogle (1-1) earned his first win out of Lehigh Valley's bullpen. Reggie McClain (0-1) suffered the loss for SWB.
Scranton/Wilkes-Barre dropped the series and is now 9-14 on the season. The RailRiders head on the road for a six-game series in Rochester starting on Tuesday night. All the action can be heard on swbrailriders.com.
